Kodoluz is a covert field agent working for the Spy Bunker, responsible for gathering observations from the surface world beyond the underground settlements. Although no one outside of the Spy Bunker knows the role exists, much of the Spy Bunker’s understanding of surface activity comes from Kodoluz’s journeys above ground, where unfamiliar places, distant activities, and unexpected discoveries are quietly documented and reported. Unlike many who fear the surface, Kodoluz became fascinated by it. While the Earth Crawlers expanded tunnels and uncovered new cave systems, Kodoluz often followed their work from a distance, eager to explore places that nobody else had seen. A collapsed tunnel that briefly exposed a small opening to the surface offered the first glimpse of the world above. Later, when the Earth Crawlers uncovered a deep chasm that reached toward the surface, Kodoluz secretly ventured beyond the barricades to investigate before the passage was permanently sealed. These expeditions eventually drew attention. Yadrid and Hirikan, two Earth Crawlers who had promised to report unusual discoveries to Ramorza, witnessed Kodoluz leaving for the chasm and reluctantly informed the Spy Master. Upon returning from the journey, Kodoluz was met by Ramorza and escorted to a hidden facility few citizens even knew existed: the Spy Bunker. There, Kodoluz was questioned about the expeditions and offered a choice. Service within the Spy Bunker would allow the exploration to continue under Ramorza’s direction. Refusal would mean facing trial for repeatedly breaking one of the underground community’s most serious laws, a crime punishable by death. With little real alternative, Kodoluz accepted. Although now working as a spy, Kodoluz has never fully adopted the mindset of one. Surface missions remain driven by curiosity as much as duty. Observations are gathered honestly, discoveries are approached with genuine interest, and the world above remains a source of fascination rather than suspicion. While Ramorza sees information as a tool and Yuvis sees it as evidence, Kodoluz is often simply excited to discover something new. Curious, adaptable, and quietly independent, Kodoluz represents the desire to explore beyond the boundaries that fear has imposed.
